adiabatic process

A process in which there is no exchange of heat or mass with the environment. In an adiabatic process, a change in internal energy is solely a consequence of work. For an ideal gas and most atmospheric conditions, compression results in warming, whereas expansion results in cooling.

proceso adiabático

Es un proceso en el que no hay intercambio de calor ni masa con el entorno. En un proceso adiabático, un cambio en la energía interna es únicamente una consecuencia del trabajo. Para un gas ideal y la mayoría de las condiciones atmosféricas, la compresión produce calentamiento, en tanto que la expansión produce enfriamiento.
