sensible heat flow
From Glossary of Meteorology
The transfer of sensible heat (enthalpy) from one region of a fluid to another by fluid motion.
In the atmosphere, the poleward transport of sensible heat across a given latitude belt is given by the integral , where cp is the specific heat of air at constant pressure, ρ the air density, v the northward component of the wind speed, T the air temperature, and ds an element of the vertical boundary at the given latitude. It must be assumed that the net mass transport must vanish or the question of the zero-point internal energy will arise.
