long-range forecast

A forecast for a period greater than seven days in advance, although there are no absolute limits to the period embraced by the definition.


Compare medium-range forecast, extended forecast.

Any function of time f(t) is periodic with period t if f(t) = f(t + τ) for all times t, where τ is the smallest number for which this equality holds.
